Learning, growing and achieving excellence together.

Welcome to our School

Helen
Williamson, HeadteacherWelcome to Billingshurst Primary School! We are at the heart of the village community of Billingshurst. Every activity in the school is intended to ensure your child is happy at this school, loves learning, makes great progress and becomes the best that they can be.
Every single child has a great talent and we want to help them, with you, find that talent. We provide a range of activities in sports, music and the arts to develop and encourage a range of talents. We place a high emphasis on basic skills but also in learning to be creative, resilient, independent and adaptable. Please use this site to find out more about what’s happening at BPS; you can also follow the school, your year group, maths and English on Twitter – just follow the link on each page!

STEAM Week 17th-20th April

We are really looking forward to STEAM week (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths).  We will be working with an engineer and STEM ambassador, Phil Edwards, from Weald Technology Ltd who will be running workshops in each year group in Key Stages 1 and 2 over the week.  We will be looking at transport, particularly the transport of the future.  Children in all year groups will have the chance to explore engineering solutions and make models of their ideas.  Our visiting engineer will be providing lots of materials for the children to use, but it would be helpful to have extra materials for model making.  We would therefore welcome donations of items such as cereal boxes, cardboard tubes, bottle tops, small foil containers.  Please send along to your child's class.

To keep the children busy over the Easter holiday, we are also running a competition to design a vehicle for the future.  Details will be given out in assembly and on the school website.
