Welcome to Billingshurst Primary School! We
are at the heart of the village community of Billingshurst. Every
activity in the school is intended to ensure your child is happy at
this school, loves learning, makes great progress and becomes the best
that they can be.
Every single child has a great talent and we want to help them, with you, find that talent. We provide a range of activities in sports, music and the arts to develop and encourage a range of talents. We place a high emphasis on basic skills but also in learning to be creative, resilient, independent and adaptable. Please use this site to find out more about what’s happening at BPS; you can also follow the school, your year group, maths and English on Twitter – just follow the link on each page!

As part of our science topic about animal habitats and food chains,
we have organised for Year 2 to visit Arundel Wetlands Centre on
Tuesday 20th March. This will develop their understanding of what
animals need to survive and their habitats. The children will
also take part in a ‘What lives in a Wetland workshop.”
We plan to leave at 9.15am and return to school by 3.15pm, traffic dependent.
For our visit the children will need:-
A drink (no fizzy drinks or drinks in glass bottles please)
To wear their school jumper, trousers, a coat and suitable footwear.
A packed lunch will be provided for the children including a sandwich, fruit and a bottle
of water. If you would like to supplement this then please send your child in with food in
a disposable plastic bag.
We would like to invite you to join us for an open rehearsal, including singing, rhythm work and ukulele practice, on Tuesday 20th March 2018 in the KS2 Hall. Our teacher, Jo Eames, who works with the West Sussex Music Service, has inspired the children and they have made terrific progress. The lessons will be at the following times: Session A 09:10 – 09:45 Class Egypt
Session B 09:50 – 10:25 Class Morocco
Session C 10:30 – 11:00 Class Madagascar
The Fair will run after school (3:20pm - 5pm), weather permitting we will be outside. Each class will be running a stall designed by the children as they put their creativity and enterprise skills to work. Please do explore all the stalls to support the children’s efforts.
The day of the Spring Fair will also be a Mufti day - the children
can come dressed in their own clothes, with spring theme or in bright
spring colours, in exchange for a donation of £1.
